| Scarlett wears her tutu to death around here, so much so that it barely resembles a skirt anymore. She's also obsessed with princesses and 'Cinderella'. Of course anyone wearing a long dress or skirt is Cinderella ;) anyway, I made her this tonight before dinner. Please excuse the fleece pants underneath. Skirts don't replace pants you know, they just go over them ;) I liked it so much I made another and have put it on Craft Fetish. | |

| I love Sarah Bean! I was a lucky winner in her Pay it Forward 365 Giveaway and today a package arrived on my doorstep: There is a nappy cover for Dominik, some yummy chocolatey fudgey goodness, and a bracelet each for Scarlett (who wouldn't take it off for the photo) and me! Thanks so much Sarah! And the carnage afterwards: Reminds me, I have to actually draw the winners of my 365 giveaway from like, February , but at least I still have till February to send the gifts | |

| Well on Friday 23rd May @ 6.56pm, Dominik Hunter was born at home, weighing 7 pounds and 14 ounces :D I'm a bit slow, cos that was over two weeks ago ;) We had the birth pool all set up in the dining room, but he ended up being born on our bedroom floor - I hid in the dark like a cat with the curtains closed. Might have had something to do with the fact half my family was here ;) Mum and Doc and my brother were here, mainly as support and distraction for Scarlett, and thank god they were, as I ended up screaming for what seemed like all day. More likely it was just the afternoon evening tho but it seemed like it went on forever I'm gutted that we didn't start taking pictures till an hour or so after he was born and I was already out of the shower. It took that long for me to think of the camera. So we haven't got any gory blood streaked shots of me and baby like we did with Scarlett | |

| Yes, I'm a big hippy :D | |

| Quite a bit actually, and it's probably the longest I've gone without blogging for some time ;) I made grape jelly :D Had picked cleaned and frozen as many grapes off the vine here as I could cope with, so pulled a bag out last week and made jelly. Just used the recipe out of the edmonds book, it was really easy and turned out so well! And I ended up giving away every jar (except the one I had in the fridge) at Scarlett's birthday :) Every family got one except Mum & Doc so I'll have to make more :) I neglected my sewing for around a week while I knitted Scarlett some wool pants for winter (using this pattern). It's the first thing I've knitted for months, and I really enjoyed it. Great pattern too. I made them in cream wool I picked up at the Sallies for $1 a ball, then dyed them green :) I've tie-dyed them with black, will take a pic and show once I've got the elastic threaded etc. Then the day before Scarlett's second birthday (3 April) I decided I needed to make her some dolls clothes as a gift. She's been obsessed with princesses lately so she got one princess dress and a 'Tim Burton' dress, but that was more for fun than anything else ;) And a birthday cake photo from Scarlett's party on Saturday: My mum made the cake, unfortunately their bus broke down on the way over on Friday and the cake sat in the heat for a couple hours and the icing melted and ran but Scarlett still loved it! - Tags:clothing, cooking, craft, domesticity, dyeing, food, gifts, handmade gifts, knitting, links, mum, patterns, personal, sallies, scarlett, sew-from-stash, sewing, sustainability, wool, yarn

| Finally :) I've been working on a stockpile but I'm lagging so I thought I might as well list what I have made. My Cloth Pad listings on TradeMeI do have multiples of some auctions which automatically relist when the auction sells so re-check my listings after buying ;) Feel free to ask questions on my auction if you want to know how many are available (though sales must go through TradeMe). I've got some long/heavy pads to list tomorrow as well. | |
